“GAY PANIC features all queer women and AFAB supporting artists.

We think it is so important to share this kind of music and content and are very excited for it to be released. At the surface level this song was written about GAY PANIC and the feeling you get that cannot be explained other than GAY PANIC.

But with the music video and the representation we want to push a narrative of highlighting butch and masc artists and showing queer love, specifically lesbian attraction.”

ARTIST BIO:

Darling Why are a three piece indie pop rock band based in London. Comprising Sammie (vocalist), Ali (bassist) and Grover (guitarist), each member brings a unique edge to the groups sound while amplifying queer voices. Our aim is to be activists for the lesbian, AFAB and non- binary community. while representing the queer experience. Our music ranges from lesbian heartbreak, to gender confusion, to lesbian activism, to GAY PANIC- our debut single.

“Being a lesbian is very important and apparent to us as a band. Our whole message is queer activism and highlighting lesbian artists. when people say don’t make your sexuality your personality trait, we definitely do and don’t care because it’s so important to us!! We’re also very passionate about the butch and masc community and representing and building the community up as it’s an overly looked over area of our community.”
